It is amazing how prevalent autism is and no I am not just referring to children. If you have ever had a conversation that just seemed odd, there might be a chance that you were talking to someone on the Autism Spectrum line. There is significant research and data that also points to hereditary links as well.
I am so thankful that I live in a time with the knowledge and resources to help all reach their full potential. No, it is not an easy walk, run, jump, and sometimes trip and fall and let me be honest, wish I could throw myself to the ground and have a tantrum!!! Oh, how funny would that be to see!
Please, please if you have the slightest thought that your child and or loved one might be on the spectrum. Help address it, there are tools that can totally change a child's life. As for adults, with God all things are possible, right, so there are tools for adults, too!!!
Update for Grace Marie
She is so beautiful and so great I could go on and on. I registered her for kindergarten last week. No, I was not upset, sad, or sorry; I am not that kind of Mommy! I had an extra year, remember! Also, who knows how I will react on her first day! She makes it easy though, seeing the love of life is beautiful.
We are on the waiting list at CHOA for OT and PT. Yes, private therapy will just give her that extra jump for her to reach her full potential. The great news is that another CHOA location will be opening up in June or July closer to where we live!
Grace and Gabrielle started a lil'all starts class on Wednesday. Coach Amy is awesome! This class gives the girls an introduction to baseball, basketball, and soccer. Coach Amy uses bubbles to encourage the team to push them down, simulating a dribble for basketball. Yes, she has the gift.
KBW update the review board body, lost or never received the application that I submitted. However, on March 17th, my contact sent the application, again. She also was encouraging, stating that I should hear something very soon, especially in this situation. I just pray that we are not denied because of funds that ran out. yes, I submitted the application on December 3rd. I hope that I do not have to 'fight' for this, it is out of my comfort zone and takes so much more energy!!!
I feel so truly blessed that Grace will be in a 'regular' kindergarten class. We have almost reached our goal and it feels great!!
Thank you, for your kind words, love, support and prayers! Have a great rest of the week.
